Apparel Sourcing and Production Manager

The Apparel Sourcing and Production Manager for the Need Supply Co. brand is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of our relationships with manufacturers. The ideal candidate will be a key player in enabling the team to support rapid growth and drive speed in the delivery of product to our customers while exceeding standards of excellence.


  • Research vendor and production strategies and investigate new sourcing opportunities as well as new development and production processes
  • Work with management to identify suppliers with innovative products and competitive pricing
  • Allocate against vendor capability and global supply chain strategy
  • Provide calendar management
  • Lead cross-functional meetings
  • Manage & develop direct reports to ensure accomplishments of deliverables & deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with Design team and Buyers to provide cost estimates and development options at initial line to meet margin goals
  • Participate in brand meetings, proto reviews, SMS reviews as well as adoption and line finalization meetings
  • Direct product efforts towards special projects, new product launches, and marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate and execute test orders and chase orders to include additional speed models
  • Interface with raw materials, technical design, and operations to provide technical support, related manufacturing and supply chain expertise to deliver outcomes that will drive top line profitable sales
  • Review product to ensure requested changes are achievable within sourcing and costing requirements
  • Interface and problem solve with cross-functional teams specific to product, quality or delivery issues
  • Partner with planning lead on seasonal capacity planning and actualizing forecast accuracy
  • Maximize gross margin opportunities through leverage, product re-engineering, and product versioning
  • Review and vet costs prior to presentation to merchants; must be fact-based and in-line with macro trends
  • Establish and maintain cost folio within approved vendor matrix

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Apparel/Textiles or something similar
  • 3-5 plus years experience in production or sourcing in the apparel industry
  • Experience working with overseas vendors 
  • Eager to take on increasing responsibilities 
  • Passion for start-ups, ecommerce, and rapid growth a must 
  • Extremely flexible and adaptive to changing priorities 
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines 
  • Clear understanding of seasonal strategies
  • Strong knowledge base related to global market conditions & macro trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ management experience
